ANAHEIM, CA - The Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building & Construction Trades Council (LAOCBCTC) today announced their strong endorsement of local businessman and longtime neighborhood activist Mitch Caldwell in his bid for the Anaheim City Council in Council District 3 in the November 6th General Election.

“After reviewing your public experience and your commitment to working families, we think you will be a great asset when you are elected. Your experience will benefit all the constituents in Anaheim, specifically District 3,” LAOCBCTC Council Representative Ernesto Medrano told Caldwell.

The LAOCBCTC is an umbrella group of 48 local unions and district councils in 14 skilled trades that collectively represent more than 100,000 skilled men and women. The LAOCBCTC has been instrumental in fighting for good, high-paying jobs for local residents throughout Anaheim and implementing community benefits agreements with both public and private-sector developers that bring desperately needed resources and jobs to Anaheim neighborhoods.

Caldwell remarked, “I built my career and raised my family as a union roofer, and it’s truly an honor to earn the support of the men and women who work so hard to build and maintain our public facilities, schools, and homes. This endorsement is a validation of the kind of campaign I’ve tried to run – focused on the issues and making life better for our families.”

The LAOCBCTC joins the ranks of community leaders from both parties who have endorsed Caldwell for City Council, including Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (ret.); Anaheim City Council Members Steve Faessel, Lucille Kring, and Kris Murray; and Anaheim Elementary School District Trustee D.R. Heywood.
